After opening various restaurants throughout South Florida and working in luxury hospitality, including the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, I eventually worked my way to my dream role at the Mandarin Oriental in Miami, as the 5 Star 5 Diamond hotel’s Wine Director. It was there that I met my husband, now business partner in our restaurant, Ishilima.
My passion is definitely food and wine. I fully immerse myself in a wine region by reading their history, learning about their culture and customs, then experiencing the wine- of course paired with great food! I try to deliver an immersive experience for our clients who attend our wine tastings at Ishilima.
While I am currently an Advanced Sommelier, WSET LEVEL 3, I’m now in the process of earning my Certified Sake Level 2. I look forward to expanding our tastings into the world of Sake and Japanese culture.
